In this training scenario, I played the role of a stranded rock climber stuck on a ledge about 80 feet off the ground. Due to the concave cliff face, he couldn't reach me when he rappelled down to my level. In this photo, he's trying to throw a loop of rope over a rock to pull himself into the ledge that I'm on. Then he will have to attach me to his rappel device and rappel both of us to the bottom. This was the scariest pick-off we've ever done, because once we were both attached to the rope, we had to step off the ledge and swing outwards several feet...80 feet up! I don't get too scared on rope, but that creeped me out!
