This awesome lady goes by the trail name "Little Feet." She's a tiny little 85 pound woman that typically carries a 45 pound pack and is almost always barefooted, even in the snow. She got the trail name given to her by members of a horse pack outfit that kept seeing tiny barefoot prints throughout the Sierras over the years and wondered what a barefooted little kid would be doing in the mountains. They started referring to the mysterious owner of the feet as "Little Feet." When they finally crossed paths with her and saw that she was barefooted and had tiny little feet, they excitedly said, "So YOU are Little Feet!! We've seen your footprints all over the Sierras!" And thus her trail name was born. She's turning 60 this year and has been hiking the Sierras for many years. She said she typically spends 3 consecutive months a year roaming in the mountains and comes out for resupply as necessary. She's gone 13 days without resupply on occasion. When I met her, she had a pair of flip flops in her hands and said she was trying out some new ones but didn't like them. She just prefers to hike barefooted, because that's what she's always done. She's one of the coolest, most interesting people I've ever met on the trail !!!!!!!!!!
