I loved the mysterious look that the immersion in the clouds brought!!! Visibility was very limited, and I couldn't see anything from the overlooks or summit. But I was more than satisfied because of the ethereal colors and solitude. At that moment in time, it seemed perfectly appropriate to "miss the forest for the trees." It was impossible to see "the big picture," but who cares when you have that sort of intensity of colors within reach in every direction. Two days later I was back on a sunny day to soak in the amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The colors were nowhere near as intense, as the high winds had blown many of the leaves down (and away). It seemed like a different place, but I could see awesome views for miles off of any overlook.
