I headed to Tennessee a day early so I could visit Conley Hole. I had great memories of a previous visit there with Shawn White, so it seemed like it was time to return. This pit is about 160 feet deep, and the entrance bells out into a huge room. In the wetter times of the year, multiple waterfalls cascade down from the ceiling of the pit, making for an unforgettable view. This time of the year the pit is dry but awesome nevertheless. I'm rigging my rope in this pic. One of the best moments of my trip was hanging for a awhile in my harness about 30 feet off the floor and just taking in the feel and view of the amazing room. It's hard to explain, but in moments like those I don't want to see or hear another human being. I just want the feeling of complete solitude...just myself and nature. It's an ethereal feeling to me.
