Neversink is not just interesting in terms of the obvious beauty as seen in the above photo. Yeh, the waterfalls and lush green ferns on the ledges are gorgeous, but if you take the time to look VERY closely at the bottom, you'll find an entire ecosystem! At first we noticed this green snake. Then we spotted a cool little frog camoflaged on a small tree branch. Then we noticed another tree frog that also almost perfectly blended in with his environment...then another...then another. And because it is a wide, open-air pit, lots of insects abounded as well. I was the last one to climb out of the pit, so I just kept exploring the world of life at the bottom as each consecutive climber made their way out. It was completely amazing to me! I had been here before several times before but had never seen any signs of life...because I never took the time. But once I started looking, I discovered life was everywhere!
